Emerge Student Ministry
The power of Jesus Christ is transformational,
and this is what the Student Ministry of First UMC calls teenagers to experience and explore. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join in the pursuit of a lifestyle wholly committed to God as we encounter what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Junior High (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12) students meet in their respective classes for Sunday School at 10:00am.
The Junior High students dig deeper into the historical context and meaning of Scripture, participate in lesson-related activities, and pray together.
The High School students decide together which topics they would like to study as a class, making this a tailored class that is both timely and relevant.
The Junior High and High School youth groups meet from 5:00-7:00pm every Sunday for youth group.
The students share a meal, participate in student-led worship, and then break out into their respective grades for age-appropriate Bible studies focused on a variety of topics.
At the end of each night, we join back together for off-the-wall, active, and fun group games!
*The Emerge Student Ministry is not currently meeting on Wednesdays. We will begin meeting again on January 15, 2014 when the winter First Family Night session begins.
Wednesday youth gatherings are seasonal and take place from 5:30-7:00pm for all students.
After dinner, the students break out into girl’s and guy’s groups for relevant Bible studies.
The Emerge Drama Team and the Emerge Worship Team each meet during these times for rehearsals.
