Christ’s Kids Club equips the youngest generation of believers
to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word
and to experience and share the love of Jesus Christ!
Sunday School
First UMC offers Sunday School classes for children in PreK-5th grade. Each class is divided by age so that your child will receive an age-appropriate experience that includes praise and worship, a Bible lesson, drama, hands-on activities, media, games, and crafts!
We have a Sunday School class for each of the following age groups:
PreK
K-1st grade
2nd-3rd grade
4th-5th grade
New families may register their children at the Christ’s Kids Club check-in desk.
For the security of our families, all children must be checked in and out of their classes by a parent or legal guardian.
All staff and volunteer workers are screened and trained through Safe Sanctuaries.

Children’s Church
Following the Children’s Chat during our 11:00 a.m. worship service, PreK-1st grade children are invited to Children’s Church! This takes place in the library, just down the hall from the entrance to the sanctuary. During this time, children will hear Bible stories, learn scripture and participate in crafts and fun activities that reinforce the lesson. Children are brought back to the sanctuary during the closing worship song at the end of the service.
We are currently learning “The Way” children’s edition by Adam Hamilton! This is being taught in conjuction with “The Way” adult studies that take place during Sunday School, First Family Night, and Tuesday and Thursday afternoon studies. Children will learn about Jesus’ life and ministry and discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus!
First Family Nights
First Family Nights are an 8-12 week series of Bible studies and classes that take place every fall and winter. On Wednesday nights from 5:30-7:30, adults of all ages and life stages come together for dinner and fellowship, followed by a variety of classes or studies while children in PreK-5th grade meet in Christ’s Kids Club for an entire program of their own!
What can your child expect?
Every Wednesday, we start with a yummy dinner followed by a high-energy time of praise and worship where kids are encouraged to dance, sing and shout praises to God! Afterwards, they join a crew with other kids their age and rotate through a variety of stations that include interactive Bible stories, upbeat games, crafts, small group devotions and prayer. Each station is designed to support and encourage deeper learning around a specific Bible verse and idea.
We are currently exploring the adventures of Peter & Paul through the High Seas Bible Expedition! From miraculous jailbreaks to deep faith in the face of danger, your child will learn about different Bible stories that show how great the love of God is!
Please check your child in at the Christ’s Kids Club check-in desk through the Third Street main entrance.
All children must be checked in and out of the program by a parent or legal guardian.
Check-in time begins at 5:20! Please let us know of any allergies or conditions your child may have at check-in.
Nursery
Nursery care is provided for children who are 6 weeks-3 years old during all worship services, Sunday School classes, and First Family Nights. Our dedicated nursery staff will be sure that your little one has a fun multi-sensory experience in a safe environment created with their safety in mind!
New families are asked to fill out a special contact and care card the first time their child visits the nursery.
