What To Expect
We want you to be you, so come as you are! You don’t have to dress up to worship God. What matters most is your presence. So look for our friendly hospitality team on Sunday mornings and expect a warm reception. They can help point you in the right direction or answer any questions you may have.
Traditional & Modern Worship Styles
If you enjoy worshiping through classic hymns, join us at the 9:00 a.m. worship service. If modern rock is more your tempo, then plan to attend the 11:00 a.m. service. At times, there are elements of contemporary instrumentation and modern hymns at both services. No matter what the musical style may be, it is our desire to use music as a tool of worship to bring you closer to the heart of God.
The Word of God is shared every time we gather, followed by a message that is built on the foundation of Scripture and shared in a way that is relevant to what people face today. From relationships and life stages to attitudes of worship and prayer, each sermon is designed to inspire people to grow in faith and follow God’s leading in their lives.
Children’s Church & Nursery
Children in PreK-1st grade are invited to Children’s Church immediately following the Children’s Chat in the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Children’s Church takes place in the library (down the hall from the front entrance to the sanctuary) and young children will worship God through kid-friendly music, have a Bible lesson of their own, and participate in crafts and activities based on the teaching. Children will be brought back to the sanctuary during the closing worship song.
For infants as young as 6 weeks and children up to age 3, nursery care is available during both worship services, as well as during the Sunday School hour.
Please notify staff and volunteers of any special needs or allergies your child may have.
Communion is offered in the chapel every Sunday during the 10 o’clock hour, with the exception of the 2nd Sunday of every month when it is served in the sanctuary during both worship services. First United Methodist Church believes that all who desire to remember the Lord and worship Him through communion are welcome to do so.
We offer multiple Sunday School classes for adults from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Topics may include Bible studies, Methodist history, relationships, life stages, finances, and more. Our classes are designed to enrich your spiritual walk and to build you up and encourage you in your faith. Click here to see a list of our current classes.
Junior High (6th-8th grade) & Senior High (9th-12th grade) students gather together at 10:00 a.m. to explore the reality and relevance of Christ’s message in their lives today. Students will explore God’s word through discussion, video and prayer. Click here to view our current series.
Sunday School classes are offered for children in PreK-5th grade. Each class is divided by age so that your child will receive an age-appropriate experience that includes praise and worship, a Bible lesson, drama, hands-on activities, games and crafts based on what they are learning. We have a Sunday School class for each of the following age groups: PreK, K-1st grade, 2nd-3rd grade, 4th-5th grade.
Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers.
New families may register their children at the Christ’s Kids Club check-in desk. For the security of our families, all children must be checked in and out of their classes by a parent or legal guardian.
All staff and volunteer workers are screened and trained through Safe Sanctuaries.
